On 12 February the participants of the project of the VI International Winter School of Multiculturalism “Dialogue Among Civilizations: New Challenges” held by the organizational support of Baku International Centre of Multiculturalism visited the Alley of Honours to commemorate our National Leader, the architect and founder of our modern independent state Heydar Aliyev and laid bouquets of flowers on his grave. The outstanding ophthalmologist-scientist, Academician Zarifa Khanum Aliyeva was also commemorated, and fresh flowers were laid on her grave.

The visitors, who further went to the Martyrs’ Alley, also laid fresh flowers on the graves of the brave sons of our Motherland who had sacrificed their lives in the struggle for the freedom and soveignty of our country. They also visited the monument “Eternal Torch”. The project participants, who were watching the view of the Azerbaijani capital from the highest point of Baku, got information on the history of the Martyrs’ Alley and our city. It should be noted that the VI International Winter School of Multiculturalism joined by the students from foreign and national universities where  the courses “Azerbaijani Multiculturalism” and “Introduction to Multiculturalism” were taught in the spring and autumn semesters of 2017 will function on February 12-18 in Baku as well as the districts of Shamakhi, Ismayilli and Gabala. The Winter and Summer Schools organized for the students who study at present Azerbaijani multiculturalism in the frames of the curriculum at 17 universities of the world and 38 leading universities of Azerbaijan are aimed to enable those youth to witness what they have learnt theoretically in our country with multicultural and tolerant values.

About 30 students from the leading universities of 16 countries – Azerbaijan, Austria, Afghanistan, Bulgaria, Estonia, Georgia, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Montenegro, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Great Britain and Ukraine are taking part in the VI International Winter School of Multiculturalism.
