Farid Shafiev met with the participants of the Internatıonal Multiculturalism Winter School
Farid Shafiyev, chairman of the management board of the Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center), met with the participants of the XI International Multiculturalism Winter School organized by Baku International Multiculturalism Center and delivered a lecture on Azerbaijan's foreign policy priorities. During the lecture, Farid Shafiyev said that the main issue at the center of Azerbaijan's foreign policy is the liberation of Azerbaijani territories from occupation and other related processes.
The chairman of AIR Center stressed that the country hopes for the restoration of lasting peace in the region and is working in this direction. He also touched on the history of the conflict and mediation initiatives and talked about the reasons that necessitated the occurrence of the war. According to him, war is not a desirable option, but in some cases it can be the only option.
Mr. Shafiyev added that the liberation of Azerbaijani lands from occupation opened up new economic opportunities for the region and informed about the international oil and gas pipeline and transport projects implemented in the region. He added that Armenia can also participate in such an international project, and Azerbaijan extends a hand of cooperation to this country.
Emphasizing that Azerbaijan lives in a difficult geostrategic region, the AIR Center chairman stressed that the country has established balanced cooperative relations with all countries. Farid Shafiyev also added that Azerbaijan is not a member of any military organization in principle and spoke about the Non-Aligned Movement chaired by the country and the measures taken within the framework of this movement.
Farid Shafiyev also informed the participants of the Winter School about AIR Center activities.
