Participants of the Winter School project given detailed information about ethnic, cultural and religious groups living in Azerbaijan

Khachmaz, February 18

On February 18, participants of the 10th International Multiculturalism Winter School, organized by the Baku International Multicultural Center (BIMC), listened to a lecture on the theme "Policy of multiculturalism and tolerance in Azerbaijan".

Anar Gafarov, representative of the Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan and lecturer of the Institute of Theology, spoke at the event held at the Khachmaz Museum of History and Regional Studies about the importance of multiculturalism and tolerance in the world and noted that Azerbaijan is an exemplary country in this respect thanks to the measures taken in both social and legal spheres..

The lecturer highlighted the social and political measures taken to preserve the multicultural and tolerant environment in the Republic of Azerbaijan, emphasizing the importance of the work and action plan in this regard in terms of religious, ethnic, cultural, ideological and political safety of the country.

Anar Gafarov gave detailed information about ethnic, cultural and religious groups living in Azerbaijan. The lecturer also spoke in detail about Azerbaijan's policy of multiculturalism and its importance to society, the basics of Azerbaijan's policy of multiculturalism and tolerance, as well as practical examples in accordance with the policy of multiculturalism and tolerance in Azerbaijan.

After listening to the lecture, participants of the Winter School project got acquainted with the Khachmaz Museum of History and Regional Studies, visited the Museum of Personality in the open air, the Heydar Aliyev Park and the Chanlibel Park.

International Multiculturalism Summer and Winter Schools Project is a logical continuation of “Teaching Azerbaijani multiculturalism at foreign and local universities” Project. The purpose of the winter and summer schools organized for students studying Azerbaijani multiculturalism at 21 foreign and 38 Azerbaijani prestigious higher education institutions under the educational project is to enable those young people to see and witness with their own eyes what they have learned theoretically, in our country where the values of multiculturalism and tolerance are preserved.

25 students from the leading universities of countries such as Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Colombia, Croatia, India, Iraq, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Montenegro, Moldova, Nigeria, Portugal, Russia, Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe, Turkey, USA and Brazil attend the 10th International Multiculturalism School, which will last until February 22.
