Martyrs of January 20 opened the path to independence of Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani people live today thanks to their determination and the price of life.
Executive director of Baku International Multiculturalism Center Ravan Hasanov said these words in his statement to journalists.
The executive director said that in 1994, political evaluation of the events of January 20 by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev was a very important step. The January 20 events were aimed at stifling the national liberation movement of a nation by sending troops to a Soviet city for the first time. Therefore, it is very important that these events are not erased from memory. The Center will constantly organize events with young people, representatives of peoples living in Azerbaijan, and religious communities both inside and outside the country.
