Baku International Multiculturalism Center hosts a meeting with Editor of International Desk of Malaysian National News Agency R. Ravichandran
On October 22, 2019, Ravan Hasanov, Executive Director of Baku International Multiculturalism Center (BIMC), met with R.Ravichandran, Editor of International Desk of Malaysian National News Agency.
In the meeting, Ravan Hasanov spoke about the activities of BIMC, which was created under a decree of the President of Azerbaijan, and gave information about multiple regional and international events organized by the Center within past 5 years for the purposes of the establishment and strengthening of the relations between ethnic and religious communities settled in our country and study and promotion of Azerbaijani multiculturalism. He noted that the projects carried out by BIMC include international summer and winter multiculturalism schools, creation of “Young Friends of Azerbaijan” International Club, teaching of Azerbaijani multiculturalism course in 38 universities in Azerbaijan and 21 universities worldwide, preparation and publishing of multiculturalism-related books.
R.Ravichandran, Editor of International Desk of Malaysian National News Agency, noted that traditions of multiculturalism and tolerance imply the factors that bring people together, not those that make them different. He emphasized that it is notable that multiculturalism is seen as a lifestyle in Azerbaijan, while extremism and violence are spread in the world. He expressed his wish to prepare a broad interview about the activities of the Center and underlined the necessity of spreading the multicultural situation of Azerbaijan to other countries as well.
At the end of the meeting, presents of BIMC were provided to the guest.
