Javed Bava: when I saw the city of Aghdam, I compared it to Hiroshima, where the atomic bomb was dropped

I was not aware of what was waiting for me there before arrival to Azerbaijan and going to Karabakh. When I saw the city of Aghdam, I compared it to Hiroshima, where the atomic bomb was dropped. The first word coming to my mind when I saw Agdam was “war crimes” – war crimes committed against mankind, culture and worship places. This is totally unacceptable situation.
These thoughts have been voiced by Mr. Javed Bava, president of Islamic Center of Inglewood of Los Angeles in his interview to the journalists after round table organized on the topic “Ensuring multiculturalism and religious harmony against all threats” in Baku International Multiculturalism Center (BIMC).
Javed Bava stressed: “I am just describing what I have witnessed. Like something broke inside of me when we visited Shusha. I have witnessed that armenians kept animals in the mosques. Brave Azerbaijani soldiers sacrified their lives for the freedom of Shusha. By returning mosques and churches in Shusha to Azerbaijan they saved them from Armenian oppression. I am grateful to all of them. I will deliver what I saw in Agdam, Shusha, and Ganja to the state officials and the necessary places after my return to the United States. Also, I will talk about the genocide committed against Azerbaijanis who are one of the most peaceful people in the world”.
