The event on the topic “We are strong together” dedicated to November 8 - Victory Day jointly organized by Baku International Multiculturalism Center and the Executive Authority of Lankaran City has been held on November 4, at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Lankaran City.

       The participants of the event first paid tribute to the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev by laying flowers in front of the monument.

       In the ongoing event at Heydar Aliyev Center in Lankaran City the memory of those who died for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was commemorated with a minute of silence.

       The participants of the event watched the documentary film "We are strong together".

       Emin Guliyev, the head of the Legal department of the Executive Authority of Lankaran City, who gave a speech, congratulated the event participants on the Victory Day and spoke about the heroism of our soldiers and officers including Lankaran fighters in the 44-day Patriotic War which ended with the Victory of the Azerbaijani Army.

       Yadigar Mammadli, head of the department at Baku International Multiculturalism Center, pointed out in his speech that during the Patriotic War the representatives of all the peoples living in Azerbaijan united as one fist and liberated our lands under the enemy's foothold, and won a great victory.

       It was stated that Azerbaijan has been recognized as a place where different civilizations meet where a national and cultural diversity environment has been formed for centuries, where representatives of different nationalities and confessions live in conditions of peace, tranquility, mutual understanding and dialogue. Multiculturalism and tolerance have historically been the way of life of Azerbaijanis and today it has become the daily way of life of every citizen of the state of Azerbaijan, regardless of their national identity, language, and religion.

       Emphasizing that one of the main directions of the state policy in our country is multiculturalism, Y. Mammadli pointed out that the political line implemented by the Great Leader in the field of protecting the multicultural traditions of the Azerbaijani people is now confidently continued and developed by President Ilham Aliyev.

       It was emphasized that Talyshes like the representatives of all the peoples living in Azerbaijan, showed true heroism in winning the Great Victory during the Patriotic War.

       Alakbar Aliyev, the father of National Hero Asgar Aliyev, captain Emil Verdiyev, veteran of the Patriotic War, Saleh Dostiyev, chairman of the Lankaran District Organization, Azerbaijan Homeland War Veterans Association, spoke about the love for the homeland and the bravery of the representatives of various nations living in our country who fought in the Karabakh War, expressed their gratitude to the head of the state for the attention and care shown to the war participants.
