Multiculturalism Center held a Conference on Victory Day
On November 5, Baku International Multiculturalism Center (BIMC) held a conference dedicated to the second anniversary of Victory Day under the title "We are strong together".
At the conference, the dear memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was commemorated with a minute of silence.
Ravan Hasanov, the executive director of BIMC, who opened the conference with his welcoming remark, noted that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Army won a brilliant Victory in the 44-day Patriotic War. Although some countries tried their best to prevent our rightful war, they failed.
"In this war, every citizen of Azerbaijan was united. The spirit during the war showed that our Army was fighting a just war. After the liberation of our lands from occupation, large infrastructure projects are being implemented in those areas. But the enemy still wants to prevent us. Mines buried by Armenians in our territories slow down these processes", R. Hasanov said.
The executive director mentioned that Azerbaijan has always fought against injustice and there has never been any religious discrimination in our country. Over the past hundred years, no country has won such a big victory as we have.
"Restoring our destroyed territories from scratch without anyone's help requires great potential, and the State of Azerbaijan is capable of this", concluded the Executive Director of BIMC.
He noted that Victory Day is festively celebrated in every part of Azerbaijan.
Then, a video called "We are strong together" was presented, reflecting the unity shown by the representatives of religious and national communities in our country during the Patriotic War.
Later, Fuad Nurullayev, the Deputy Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims’ Board (CMB), Melih Yevdayev, Head of the Religious Community of Mountain Jews in Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Aliyev, Deputy director of the Moral Values Promotion Foundation, Imamverdi Hamidov, the elder of the Talysh community, Archpriest Mefodiy Elnur Efendiyev, the secretary of the Baku Diocese Office of the Russian Orthodox Church, Muhammad Nooyev, chairman of the "Azerbaijan-Avar" Public Union, Robert Mobili, chairman of the Albanian-Udi Christian religious community and others congratulated the participants of the conference on the occasion of the Victory Day and wished mercy to our martyrs. They emphasized that the representatives of the national-religious communities in Azerbaijan are together and united.
In the speeches, it was brought to attention that the places of worship in the territories freed from occupation were destroyed by Armenians and were used for keeping animals. It was emphasized that all the peoples of Azerbaijan united around President Ilham Aliyev as an "Iron Fist" during the Patriotic War.
Family members of martyrs Babek Ramaldanov, Dmitriy Solnsev, Khaliq Azizzadeh and Fuzuli Aliyev spoke about their war path and noted their heroism in the struggle for the sovereignty of Azerbaijan.
The veterans noted that they are proud of having fought for Azerbaijan. The participants of the war, who shared their memories about the war, emphasized they are ready for every order of President Ilham Aliyev.
