The Patriotic War demonstrated once again that the people of Azerbaijan are able to unite in fateful matters
Azerbaijani citizens belonging to different nations and religions united like an iron fist by showing unity and solidarity in the Patriotic War and put an end to the occupation by fighting shoulder to shoulder.
This was announced on November 4, at the conference named "We are strong together" jointly organized by Baku International Multiculturalism Center (BIMC) and the Executive Power of Guba district on the occasion of November 8 - Victory Day.
Before the event, the participants visited the monument of the great leader Heydar Aliyev and honored his memory.
The conference held at the Heydar Aliyev Center of Guba region was attended by the officials of the BIMC, Guba Regional Government, representatives of the State Committee on Religious Associations, representatives of local organizations of the Caucasus Muslims' Board, members of religious communities, families of martyrs, and veterans of the Patriotic War.
The conference started with the screening of the film produced by Baku International Multiculturalism Center.
Then, the memory of the defenders of the Homeland , who were martyred for the freedom of our lands, was commemorated with a minute of silence.
Anar Mammadov, deputy head of the Executive Authority of Guba district, said that Victory Day is a very significant date for our people. We are celebrating the anniversary of this unprecedented Victory, which has become a celebration of the strength and national pride of our people.
The President of Azerbaijan, victorious commander-in-chief Ilham Aliyev, has turned our country into a powerful state by following a correct strategy and purposeful policy to restore the territorial integrity of our country. Our brave sons freed our lands from enemy occupation by putting an end to the 30-year occupation at the cost of their lives. All peoples living in our country demonstrated strong unity in achieving this historical Victory.
Rashad Ilyasov, head of the department of Baku International Multiculturalism Center, noted that the 44-day Patriotic War once again showed the world that the people of Azerbaijan are able to unite closely in matters of destiny. During the war, all Azerbaijanis, regardless of their political beliefs, religious views, ethnicity, and where they live in the world, united around one goal and took up arms and turned into an iron fist by the order of the Supreme Commander. Noting that the Armenians not being satisfied with keeping our lands under occupation, Rashad Ilyasov emphasized that the enemy committed genocide against our historical and religious monuments, destroyed not only Islamic monuments, but also temples belonging to the ancient Albanian heritage, trying to falsify and make them their own.
Eynulla Nurullayev, head of the department of the State Committee on Religious Associations of Guba region, Anar Eyyubov, the authorized representative of the Caucasus Muslims' Board of Guba region, Imam of the “Haji Jafar” mosque, Alibala Muzaffarov, a member of the Council of Elders of Guba region, Galina Shirinbayova, the martyred mother, and Selimjan Rizmanov, the chairman of "Vatan" Akhiska Turks Public Union Organization across the northern region delivered a speech on our glorious Victory at the conference.
It was stated that our wise people have always managed to preserve our statehood, national unity, national spirit, and patriotic feelings.
