Theodore Dorich: the Project of the International Winter School of Multiculturalism Increased My Theoretical Knowledge About Tolerance
I have come from Serbia and it’s my first visit to Azerbaijan. I am studying the model of tolerance in your country. We have been in Guba for three days already in the frames of the project of the VIII International Winter School of Multiculturalism. We have closely familiarized ourselves with the synagogues “Gilaki” and “Alti gunbaz” [Six Cupolas] in the Red Settlement densely populated by the mountain Jews as well as the mosques in Guba. The Jews in the Red settlement have long co-existed in peace and security together with the Azerbaijanis. The friendly co-existence of people of different religions is very remarkable.
These words were uttered by Theodore Dorich, a Serbian participant of the project of the VIII International Winter School of Multiculturalism “The Literary-artistic Sources of Azerbaijani Multiculturalism”.
The Serbian participant stated that during their stay here they witnessed the co-existence of various confessions, nations and ethnicities under the conditions of mutual understanding.
“We are going to stay in Azerbaijan some more days within the project. We are going to have important meetings in Baku too. The project of the VIII International Winter School of Multiculturalism has increased our theoretical knowledge about tolerance. Also, we have had a chance to observe the successful model obtained by Azerbaijan in the field of multiculturalism,” said Theodore Dorich.
