On 23 November the participants of the international conference on “The Advocacy of the Principles of Tolerance, Humanism and Peaceful Disposition among the Youth” visited Baku International Centre of Multiculturalism.

The Acting Executive Director of Baku International Centre of Multiculturalism Ravan Hasanov, who greeted the representatives of the youth organizations, young scholars and experts from the CIS-member states including Russia, Belorussia and other countries, provided the visitors with information on the multicultural environment in our country. He stated that Azerbaijan is an example to the world with its multicultural and tolerant lifestyle. The current state of the environment of tolerance in Azerbaijan is the result of the policy pursued by President Ilham Aliyev, his equal attitude to each of our citizens irrespective of their religion, language and national identity.

“Azerbaijan is one of the few countries in the world where people of all faiths co-exist peacefully, and enjoy the identical attitude. The Azerbaijani state always keeps the maintenance of the multicultural environment in the focus of its attention. Lately Azerbaijan has hosted significant international forums and conferences on this topic. Today Baku International Centre of Multiculturalism is advocating multiculturalism in 15 countries of the world”, stated Ravan Hasanov. He pointed out that the policy of tolerance pursued by the Azerbaijani state lays foundations for the further consolidation of friendship and fraternity among the ethnic and religious communities living in our country. All this is the outcome of the policy founded by the national leader Heydar Aliyev.

The Acting Executive Director of Baku International Centre of Multiculturalism also spoke of the activities of the institution represented by him. He pointed out that the Centre is mainly aimed at the guarantee of the maintenance of tolerance and cultural, religious and linguistic diversities in accordance with the ideology of Azerbaijanianism as well as presentation of Azerbaijan to the world as the centre of multiculturalism and the study and promotion of the existing multicultural models.

The visitors expressed their pleasure in their trip to Azerbaijan, and their participation in the international conference on “The Advocacy of the Principles of Tolerance, Humanism and Peaceful Disposition among the Youth”. They highly appraised the multicultural and tolerant environment in Azerbaijan.

Further the guests were given the presents of Baku International Centre of Multiculturalism.
