INTERNATIONAL WINTER SCHOOL OF MULTICULTURALISM ENDED

The closing ceremony of XIII International Multiculturalism Winter School on "Unity in cultural diversity: example of Azerbaijan" was held on February 25.
First, the memory of Khojaly victims was honored at the event.
Speaking later, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Baku International Center for Multiculturalism (BBMM), academician Kamal Abdulla brought to attention that the participants of the Winter School got acquainted with many places of Azerbaijan within a week.
It was stated that, significance of International Multiculturalism Winter School is very great. Because Winter School is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev, the Great Leader of Azerbaijan. 
"Tomorrow is one of the most tragic days in the history of Azerbaijan - the 31st anniversary of the Khojaly genocide. Armenians attacked Khojaly and killed women, children and the elderly because they were Azerbaijanis. "We must not forget the tragedy of Khojaly so that these events do not happen again," said the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Baku International Center for Multiculturalism.
Then Ravan Hasanov, executive director of the Baku International Multiculturalism Center, said that, such events are very important in terms of the introduction of Azerbaijani multiculturalism in the world. Noting that the participants of the Winter School were eyewitnesses of the hospitality of the Azerbaijani people Ravan Hasanov stated that: "Winter and Summer International Multiculturalism schools are one of the important projects of the Center. This project is organized twice a year and covers a number of our regions along with the city of Baku. This event, initiated by President Ilham Aliyev, has already become a tradition. Foreign students attending the school get to know the multiculturalism of Azerbaijan". 
Ravan Hasanov stressed that, friendhip and coopeeation with project participants will continue. 
At the end, certificates were presented to the participants of the Winter School.
Let us remind you that, The students from the leading universities of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Brazil, Romania, Germany, Palestine, Russia, United States of America, Georgia, Pakistan, Iraq, Bulgaria, Mozambique, Central African Republic, Syria, Sri Lanka, China and Japan participated in XIII International Multiculturalism Winter School.  
Participants of Winter School was given detailed information about the multicultural environment, tolerant mood, ethnic-religious diversity in Azerbaijan, peaceful coexistence of representatives of different peoples and different confessions in our country. Participants listened the lectures on the topics "Heydar Aliyev and Multiculturalism", "Multiculturalism in Azerbaijan's language policy", "Azerbaijan's model of multiculturalism: Unity in cultural diversity", "Translations of Azerbaijani literature as an act of communication on the border of cultures: Gurban Said's work "Ali and Nino". Participants gave information about the history, culture, ethnic diversity of their country in the musical evening "Introduce Your People" organized within the framework of the winter school.
During visit the participants visited the Alley of Martyrs and the Alley of Honor. They were in "Shahdag" Winter-Summer Tourism Complex, Khachmaz Museum of History and Country Studies, Guba Genocide Memorial Complex. They had meetings with local people In the Red Settlement, where mountain Jews live compactly in Guba, also visited mosques, churches and synagogues.
