Chairman Of The State Committee For Work With Religious Organizations Of Azerbaijan Met With The Participants Of The Winter School Multiculturalism

On February 20, participants of the XIII International Winter School of Multiculturalism "Unity in Cultural Diversity on the Example of Azerbaijan" organized by the Baku International Center for Multiculturalism met with the Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations Mubariz Gurbanli.
The participants honored the memory of those killed in the earthquake in Turkey with a minute of silence.
Mubariz Gurbanli noted the importance of the project in terms of visual acquaintance with the Azerbaijani model of tolerance, as well as propaganda and popularization of these values in the world. He stressed that one of the priority areas of the religious policy of the state, laid down by the great leader Heydar Aliyev and successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev, is all related to tolerance. Preservation, development, and popularization of millennia-old traditions of tolerance of our people at the local and international level are among the main goals of the religious policy of the state. He said that equal conditions have been created for representatives of all religions in Azerbaijan, and the necessary measures are being taken to ensure that they live in accordance with their faith and convictions. The Chairman of the State Committee touched upon the importance
maximum use of the possibilities of peacemaking, dialogue and cooperation of religions. By actively participating in this process, Azerbaijan has become a leading force for interreligious and intercultural dialogue.
Further, answers were given to the questions of the Winter School listeners from different countries.
It should be noted that the XIII International Winter School of Multiculturalism, dedicated to the “Year of Heydar Aliyev”, will last until February 26. At the XIII International Winter School multiculturalism is attended by 30 students from leading universities Azerbaijan, Turkey, Brazil, Romania, Germany, Palestine, Russia, USA, Georgia, Pakistan, Iraq, Bulgaria, Mozambique, CAR, Syria, Sri Lanka, China and Japan.
