Azerbaijan University of Languages holds the I International Scientific Conference “HEYDAR ALIYEV: Multiculturalism and the Ideology of Tolerance” dedicated to the 95^th Jubilee of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev with the support of the New Azerbaijan Party and Baku International Centre of Multiculturalism. The sections of the conference have been organized on the basis of the Universities of Germany, Italy, Serbia, Russia, China, Turkey, Ukraine, Belorussia, Georgia and Azerbaijan.

The sections of the conference in different countries have started their work. As, on 7 April Ural Federal University after the First President of Russia Boris Yeltsin held the session of the first section on “The Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan Is the First Democratic Republic in the East” of the I International Scientific Conference “HEYDAR ALIYEV: Multiculturalism and the Ideology of Tolerance” dedicated to the 95^th Jubilee of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev with the support of Azerbaijan University of Languages, the New Azerbaijan Party and Baku International Centre of Multiculturalism.

The congratulations of the Rector of Ural Federal University after the First President of Russia B.Yeltsin Viktor Anatoliyevich Koksharov and the Rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages Kamal Abdulla were presented to the attention of the participants.

Further, the Consul General of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the city of Yekaterinburg Ilgar Isgandarov gave a speech and emphasized that multiculturalism has risen to the level of the state policy in Azerbaijan which has a great historical experience in the field. The Consul General stated that the political course pursued in Azerbaijan under the leadership of Heydar Aliyev in the maintenance of the Azerbaijani people’s multicultural traditions and in regards to the People’s Republic of Azerbaijan as the first democratic Republic in the East and in other fields is now being continued by the Head of the state Ilham Aliyev with confidence.

The session started its work with the speeches of the Head of the Department of Foreign Regional Studies and the Centre for Azerbaijani Studies of Ural Federal University Professor Nesterov Aleksandr Gennadiyevich and the Director of the Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan Ilham Mammadzadeh on the People’s Republic of Azerbaijan and the modern state of Azerbaijan.

The Head of the Centre for Regional Studies of the AUL Mammad Aliyev and the Head of the Department of Linguo-culturology Masma Gaziyeva gave speeches on “Religious Tolerance and Multiculturalism in Azerbaijan” and “The Language Policy and Multiculturalism in Azerbaijan” respectively.

The Chief of the Yekaterinburg City Branch of the Youth Social Organization “AMOR”, the staff member of the Department of Foreign Regional Studies of Ural Federal University D. Zheriborov, the student of the University A.Shikhlinskaya and other speakers gave profound information to the conference participants on the modern multiculturalism policy of Azerbaijan founded by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and now being decently continued by President Ilham Aliyev as well as on the People’s Republic of Azerbaijan whose 100^th Jubilee will be celebrated.

A documentary on the National Leader Heydar Aliyev was demonstrated at the meeting.

The section ended with the acknowledgement to the governorate of the Sverdlovsk province and Consulate General of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the city of Yekaterinburg for their close involvement in the high level organization of the event on behalf of Azerbaijan University of Languages and Ural Federal University.

The local TV channels and media representatives also took part in the conference.
