Ravan Hasanov, executive director of the Multicultural Center, is on a visit to the USA

Ravan Hasanov, executive director of Baku International Multiculturalism Center, is visiting the United States. The Azerbaijani delegation headed by Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh, the head of the Caucasus Muslims’ Board, is on the visit organized by the joint invitation of the US Stirling Foundation, as well as the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints. The delegation included - Ravan Hasanov, executive director of Baku International Multiculturalism Center, Sahib Nagiyev, deputy chairman of the State Committee on Religious Associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Milikh Yevdayev, chairman of the Mountain Jews community in Azerbaijan, Robert Mobili, chairman of the Alban-Udi Christian religious community, Bishop Vladimir Fekete, head of the Catholic community in Azerbaijan.
On the first day of the trip, the Azerbaijani delegation visited the Senate, the highest legislative body of the state of Utah. They met with Edward Rove, the president and chief executive officer of the Stirling Foundation.
The official welcoming ceremony of the delegation from Azerbaijan was held in the Utah state senate, and the senators welcomed the guests with applause. At the ceremony, the text of the declaration adopted by the Utah state senate regarding tolerance, multiculturalism policy and protection of religious diversity in Azerbaijan was read out.  
The document signed by Senate President Stuart Adams and Senator Michael McKell says: “The Senate of the State of Utah declares that Azerbaijan is striving to further develop multiculturalism and interfaith harmony in the country, adhering to the tradition of interfaith tolerance between Muslims, Christians and Jews since ancient times. Azerbaijan, located at the intersection of Asia and Europe, acts as a model for the region and the whole world. With the initiatives and participation of Baku International Multiculturalism Center, the Caucasus Muslims’ Board, the State Committee on Religious Associations  it became possible to bring together the leaders of different confessions of the world many times for cooperation and to protect and develop religious diversity on earth. The State of Utah is honored to welcome Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadani, Ravan Hasanov, executive director of Baku International Multiculturalism Center, Sahib Naghiyev, deputy chairman of the State Committee on Religious Associations, religious community leaders and other guests in the senate. We declare once again that the Senate of Utah appreciates the work of Azerbaijan in the direction of strengthening the values of religious tolerance and interreligious cooperation.” 
It should be noted that it will continue until March 4. The purpose of the visit is to promote the norms of tolerance, religious tolerance, coexistence between different faiths and their carriers, and search for new opportunities to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in the direction of joint action, which Azerbaijan has formed and developed over the centuries.
