Video contest on Azerbaijani multiculturalism announced in the Ukraine

The Baku International Multiculturalism Center is holding a video contest among the youth in Ukraine on the topic “What does ‘Azerbaijani multiculturalism’ mean to me?”

Marina Goncharuk, manager of the contest, member of the Baku International Multiculturalism Center, said that students will make videos about the concept of Azerbaijani multiculturalism, share their knowledge on this topic, and talk about the importance of this concept for the implementation of intercultural and interreligious dialogue, promoting tolerance, mutual respect and universal values.

“We did not choose the start date of the competition randomly - April 15 is Universal Day of Culture. I think that the development of culture in the world would be impossible without creating favorable conditions for the development of the identity of peoples and ethnic groups. And the rich cultural heritage that humanity has today would not have been possible without the tolerant and peaceful coexistence of different ethnic groups. But there are still ethnic and religious conflicts in the world. And that is why it is always relevant to remind society, and especially young people, that peace and mutual respect, favorable living conditions for representatives of different cultures have a great influence on different spheres of human life. I also want to note that according to various experts, Ukrainians are one of the most tolerant peoples of Europe. Representatives of different ethnicities and religions have always peacefully coexisted here. That is why the youth of Ukraine with great joy accept all the projects of the Baku International Multiculturalism Center and actively participate in them. I think that this contest will keep the motivation of our youth at high level, encourage them to be creative and demonstrate a creative approach,” said Marina Goncharuk.

Entries submitted to the competition will be accepted until May 8. The winners will be announced on May 10th.
