On January 21, Baku International Multiculturalism Center held a conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the tragedy of January 20.
A new publication of Baku International Multiculturalism Center (BIMC) titled “Ethnocultural heritage of Caucasian Albania” has come out.
According to the press service of BIMC, the publication, which is available in Azerbaijani, Russian and English, is a collection of articles exploring the historical, archeological, ethnological, ethnographical, architectural and artistic aspects of Caucasian Albania.
Azerbaijan keen to work with Malaysia on multiculturalism
KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 13 -- The implementation of multiculturalism as a state policy has benefited Azerbaijan, where the policy has resulted in political and economic stability for the country.
Baku International Multiculturalism Centre published the textbook “Azerbaijan Multiculturalism” in Russian.
Textbook which published in English in 2018, have been translated and published in Russian in these days.
On December 19 and 21, 2019, the Chongqing city of the People’s Republic of China hosted the third non-governmental forum of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
The event brought together approximately 80 participants from 30 countries. Representing Azerbaijan at the event, Baku International Multiculturalism Center employee Araz Gurbanov delivered a speech on the topic of “Geopolitical and regional importance of CICA in the formation of interstate relations and intercultural dialogue”.

On December 24, Baku International Multiculturalism Center (BIMC) and Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) co-organized the presentation of the book titled “President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev on the Azerbaijani model of multiculturalism”.
Opening the event with an introductory speech, AUL Rector, Academician Kamal Abdullayev said the foundation of the multiculturalism policy of the Azerbaijan Republic was laid by National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
Today Antonia Wynne-Hughes, Canadian Embassy’s second secretary on political issues, met with Ravan Hasanov, the executive director of Baku International Multiculturalism Center (BIMC).
At the meeting held in BIMC premises, Ravan Hasanov gave detailed information about the ethnocultural and religious diversity in Azerbaijan, multiculturalism implemented as a state policy and its role in intercultural and interreligious dialogue, as well as BIMC’s activities and projects carried out.
On December 16, the State Committee of the Azerbaijan Republic for Work with Religious Organizations (SCWRO) and Baku International Multiculturalism Center (BIMC) co-organized a conference on the topic of “Religion and multicultural security”.
Opening the event with an introductory speech, SCWRO Deputy Chairman Sayavush Heydarov spoke about the events taking place around the world on religious grounds.
Baku International Multiculturalism Center (BIMC), the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Croatia and the University of Zagreb co-orgenized a workshop on the model of Azerbaijani multiculturalism.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Croatia Fakhraddin Gurbanov, Rector of the University of Zagreb, Professor Damir Boras and the youth ambassador of BIMC in Croatia, a participant in the International Summer and Winter Schools of International Multiculturalism Imran Srebrenikovich spoke at the event.

Baku International Multiculturalism Centre launches the next International Winter School – 2020 for students and researchers who are interested in enhancing and deepening their knowledge on Azerbaijani multiculturalism.
On September 2-3, 2020, an international conference on the theme of “Heritage and culture of the Jews of the Northern and Eastern Caucasus and the South Caucasus” will be held in Baku.
The conference will be jointly organized by Baku International Multiculturalism Center, Azerbaijan University of Languages, Azerbaijan Institute of Theology, Israeli Bar-Ilan University’s Aharon and Rachel Dahan Center for the Study of Culture, Education and Heritage of Spanish and Oriental Jewish Communities, as well as Ashkelon Academic College.
Azerbaijani multiculturalism to be taught in Morocco
Anar Rahimov, a senior teacher of the Innovations in Education department of Azerbaijan University of Languages and deputy dean of the faculty of Additional Education and Practice, has given lectures in prestigious state universities of the Kingdom of Morocco with the organizational support of Baku International Multiculturalism Center.
