Azerbaijani Multiculturalism discussed at the Ukrainian University

A round table on "Azerbaijan is one of the centers of multiculturalism in the world: ethnic and religious diversity in Azerbaijan" was organized by the Ukrainian representative office of Baku International Multiculturalism Center and the Congress of Azerbaijanis of Dnepropetrovsk province. Students and teachers of the university, as well as representatives of the Congress of Azerbaijanis of Dnepropetrovsk Province took part in the event held at the National Technical University "Dnepr Polytechnic" in the city of Dnieper.

The round table was opened by the director of the Ukrainian-Azerbaijani cultural and business center of the university, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor Gennady Onishenko. In his speech, he emphasized the students' interest in the Azerbaijani model of multiculturalism and the activities of Baku International Multiculturalism Center, as well as the university's close cooperation with Azerbaijani partners. Marina Goncharuk, the representative of BIMC in Ukraine, gave a speech and informed the students about intercultural and interreligious dialogue in Azerbaijan, the concept of multiculturalism, as well as implemented projects and international multiculturalism schools. According to Marina Goncharuk, BIMC pays great attention to creating new opportunities for Ukrainian youth. Thanks to this, students have the opportunity to learn more about Azerbaijan as one of the unique centers of world multiculturalism.

In his speech, the head of the Congress of Azerbaijanis of the Dnieper province, Najaf Ahmadov, talked about the projects related to the youth and the activities of the Congress, as well as regular events aimed at the development of Ukrainian-Azerbaijani cooperation.

Speaking at the round table, the head of the department of the Dnieper National Technical University, doctor of economic sciences, professor Marina Pashkevich spoke about the active participation of students in youth competitions on Azerbaijani topics, their desire to deepen their knowledge about Azerbaijan and Ukrainian-Azerbaijani relations, as well as their interest in the International Multiculturalism Summer and Winter Schools held in Baku.

At the end of the event, students' questions about Azerbaijani multiculturalism and BIMC projects were answered. The representative of Baku International Multiculturalism Center in Ukraine, Marina Goncharuk, donated books published by the Center in foreign languages to the university library.
