On December 19 and 21, 2019, the Chongqing city of the People’s Republic of China hosted the third non-governmental forum of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA). The event brought together approximately 80 participants from 30 countries. Representing Azerbaijan at the event, Baku International Multiculturalism Center employee Araz Gurbanov delivered a speech on the topic of “Geopolitical and regional importance of CICA in the formation of interstate relations and intercultural dialogue”. The speech focused on the Azerbaijani model of multiculturalism and the necessity of cooperation in strengthening political, economic and cultural ties between member states, building interreligious and intercultural dialogue and eliminating local ethnic and religious conflicts and territorial claims.
