The Multiculturalism Center published a new book on Caucasian Albania
Baku International Multiculturalism Center (BIMC) has published the second collection of articles from the series "Ethno-cultural heritage of Caucasian Albania". The book was prepared based on the materials of the international scientific conference "Caucasus Albania: history, religion and architecture" held in May of this year. At the conference, which was held online, reports were listened from scientists-researchers representing 9 countries - Germany, Norway, France, Italy, Turkey, Russia, Lithuania, Georgia and Azerbaijan. The book contains eleven articles by 26 scientists, 8 of them are from foreign countries. In the articles, it was emphasized that even during the Soviet period, there was, to put it mildly, jealousy on the part of our neighbors for the study of the history of Caucasian Albania. Their claims to these territories have existed since then. During the last 30 years, not only Albanian-Christian monuments, but also Islamic monuments have been falsified or looted and destroyed in these areas by Armenians. The attention of UNESCO and other relevant international organizations should be drawn to the fact of misrepresentation and looting of historical monuments, as destroyed and falsified historical monuments are not only ours, but also the material and moral heritage of humanity.
It should be noted that the Republic of Azerbaijan is the direct historical heir and keeper of the rich Albanian ethno-cultural heritage, the ancient and early medieval culture of Caucasian Albania, as well as the entire historical and religious heritage created by ethnic groups living in this area in the following centuries. Investigating the important problems of Albanian studies in the fields of history, archeology, anthropology, ethnology, linguistics, architecture and art, preserving and protecting the Albanian ethno-cultural heritage is one of the important directions of the multiculturalism policy of our country.
The editor-in-chief and author of the foreword of the book is academician Kamal Abdullayev, chairman of the Board of Trustees of BIMC, scientific editors are academician Farida Mammadova and doctor of philosophy Ulviyya Hajiyeva, person in charge for the project is Ravan Hasanov, the executive director of BIMC, and the editor is Tahir Kazimli, an employee of BIMC.
