On 29 January the Acting Executive Director of Baku International Centre of Multiculturalism Ravan Hasanov met with the Charge d’affaires of Bulgaria to Azerbaijan Yanko Yanakiyev. At the meeting Ravan Hasanov spoke of the activities of Baku International Centre of Multiculturalism established by the 15 May 2014 Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and gave information on numerous regional and international events of the institution during the past period to establish and consolidate relations among the ethnic and religious communities dwelling in our country, to study and advocate Azerbaijani multiculturalism. It was stated that among the projects implemented by Baku International Centre of Multiculturalism the organization of the international summer and winter schools of multiculturalism, the establishment of the International Club “The Young Friends of Azerbaijan”, teaching the course “Azerbaijani Multiculturalism” at 38 leading universities of the country and about 20 prestigious universities of the world, the development and publication of the books on multiculturalism should be underlined.

In his own turn, the Charge d’affaires of Bulgaria to Azerbaijan Yanko Yanakiyev emphasized that when speaking of the traditions of multiculturalism and tolerance it is the factors that bring people closer and unite them, not the nuances that distinguish the people are important and that the acceptance of multiculturalism as a lifestyle in Azerbaijan is noteworthy in the time when extremism and violence are spread in the world. He prioritized the importance of developing the cooperation with the Centre in their future activities.

The meeting was also attended by the Consultant of the Centre Aytan Gahraman and the Head of Department Sarkhanbey Khudiyev.

In the end the guest was given the presents of Baku International Centre of Multiculturalism.
